Autumn Leaves and Berries

Or should that be berets? A lame pun, I know.

I dyed a skein of chunky yarn in crimson. I’ve been much taken by a Ravelry friend’s Urchin (by Ysolda) and, since imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, I made my own Holly Berry:

It took only hours to knit and I’m such a fan of Ysolda again.

Another piece of speedy knitting last week was my Mezquita in the totally gorgeous four-colour hand-dyed merino/silk blend:

Doesn’t it make you think of trees in autumn?

My next berry beret could be elderberry. I’m cooking a pot with A LOT of jet black dye in it right now and I’ll post the result in a day or so, whether it’s a success or miserable failure.
