Feeling rather pleased about my hand-dyed yarn was somewhat tempered by the slight dyeing of my hands while knitting. Of course I gave it a good few rinses before blocking.
I couldn’t resist knitting another fantastic shawl by one of my favourite designers during a recent magazine tech edit. I can’t reveal all just yet (wait until next month) but here’s a tiny bit of Go Fly which has loads of beads….
Knitted with more hand-dyed yarn in an interesting dusky rose, I’m not worried about dye transfer since it’s practically skin tone!
Another edit got me totally obsessed with sock heels and this was partially cured by Kimono Toes from verybusymonkey’s Cadence Socks:
The yarn is Artesano Definition, and I’ll use it again when I get my hands on some.
Finally, since there’s not much knitting here, a book recommendation. Have a read of Gwen Steege’s The Knitter’s Life List (buy it from Amazon):
Although it’s biased to the US, there’s lots of inspiration if you hit a calm spot in your knitting, or as a break to avoid tendonitis/carpal tunnel syndrome (which can happen to the best of us). Read a chapter or two and you’ll be trotting down to your LYS, shopping on t’internet, browsing Ravelry, or all three at once. Enjoy.
